Ch 15. The Forbidden Street

줄거리 요약

해리, 헤르미온느, 네빌, 말포이 4명은 교내 규칙을 어긴 벌로 해그리드와 펭과 함께 금지된 숲으로 향하게 된다.

비밀의 숲에서는 네빌, 론, 펭 1팀 그리고 해리, 헤르미온느, 해그리드 1팀. 총 2팀으로 각 각 왼쪽 오른쪽으로 흩어져서 유니콘을 찾기로 한다. 유니콘을 찾았을 때는 초록색 마법을 하늘에 쏘고 위험 상황이 생겼을 때는 빨간색 마법을 하늘에 쏘아올리자고 사전에 약속했다. 모험 중 켄타로우스를 만나게 되었다. 해그리드는 유니콘을 다치게 한 존재를 물었지만 켄타로우스들은 엉뚱한 소리만 하며 질문에 회피했다. 한껏 짜증난 해그리드가 그 때 네빌팀이 쏘아올린 빨간색 마법을 보게 되었다. 해리와, 헤르미온느에게 잠깐 기다리라고 말한 후 네빌이 있는 곳으로 갔다. 하지만 말포이가 뒤에서 네빌을 놀래키는 장난을 쳐서 네빌이 놀라 마법을 쓴 것이었다. 네빌과 해리포터를 스왑 후 팀을 재정비하여 다시 길을 향하였다. 해리와 말포이는 유니콘의 피를 빨아 먹고 있는 후드를 쓴 형체를 발견하게 되었다. 말포이는 겁에 질려 황급히 도망쳤지만 해리는 이마에 흉터가 타오르는 고통 때문에 그 자리에 털썩 주저 앉아버렸다. 그 무렵 '피렌체'라는 켄타로우스가 등장하여 해리를 구해준다. 피렌체에 올라탄 해리는 그의 안내에 따라 숲을 벗어나기로 했다. 신성한 존재 유니콘을 죽인 자. 유니콘의 피는 죽을음 눈앞에 둔 사람도 살아나게 한다. 하지만 유니콘의 피가 입술에 닿는 순간부터 반쪽자리 삶, 저주받은 삶을 살게 된다. 힘을 되찾기 위해서는 '마법사 의 돌' 이 필요할거라는 힌트를 해리에게 주었다. 피렌체는 동료 켄타로우스들은 인간을 어떻게 태울 수 있냐며 나무랐다. 휴게실에서 기다리고 있던 론은 이 사실을 듣고 잠이 확 깨었고 그 이름을 그만 말하라며 식식댔다. 헤르미온느는 무척 겁에 질리면서도 위로의 말을 건넸다. 그날 밤 침대에서 이불을 들어 올렸더니 투명 망토가 깔끔히 개어져 있었다. 거기에는 쪽지 한 장이 있었는데 "혹시 모르니까" 라고 적혀있었다.
